The Great Mother

[From one Throne to Another]

History is about to be made again between the longtime ennemies King Lisoï of Laar and King Miroï of Galan... More than ever, Fiha Lodan will have to overcome her tragedies to be the mother her children need.

« Sara sat on the bench in front of the room, her elbows over her knees and her head between her hands. In the past few weeks, she and Fiha hadn’t really talked. The Queen was still furious and she could understand. What she couldn’t understand was how things got this ugly… People always considered Trikadim like a walking encyclopaedia, which she was, but “almost-Gods”…, which clearly, she wasn’t. Many things were left unknown to the Trikadim, and only the Bint Herself and Asîa had the power to do so. In Fiha’s destiny, there was this big blank Sara couldn’t reach. And for the first time in her life, Sara was scared. She never really liked the idea she had power over the others, but she accepted her power as a gift instead of a burden, and learned to deal with it. She learned how to open and close forbidden doors, how to stay away from forgotten wounds… What she didn’t understand was: what was she to do with what she was given…

She looked up and saw two young people walking to her. She made a face, not recognising them. The young man was tall and strong, wearing the black uniform to the Knights, his hair braided and the red beret under his arm. The girl was clearly younger. She had the blue suit of the novices, future Knight. She was Mixed, had dark eyes and dark hair, and she seemed so young to be a novice…

“We come to see the Queen.” Said the man.

Sara looked into his hazel eyes.

“She won’t be able to see you now.” She answered, getting up. “Asîa Almighty…”

The young people bowed and turned around, to disappear in the corner. Sara fell on her knees, her hands in the ground and her forehead over her hands. She closed her eyes and prayed. »
